He was reportedly rock climbing near Tahquitz Rock in the San Bernardino National Forest when he got injured during an accident and was found dead after the firefighters arrived at the scene for help. Another rock climber named Chelsea Walsh died with him. The Long Beach Fire Department posted a tribute to the footballer on their social media account on Instagram.
